Brief lesson on introducing oneself in Chinese.

This lesson is about introducing yourself in Chinese.

Jane: 我叫 Jane.
Amy: 我是 Amy.
John: 我的名字是 John.

Lesson 3 Review:
I am - 我是 (wǒ shì)
I am called - 我叫 (wǒ jiào)
My name is - 我的名字是 (wǒ de míng zì shì)

Notes:
The character 我 means "I" or "me". To see more details on the usage of this character, please click here.

The character 是 in this case is used in a way that is very similar to the irregular verb "to be" in its present tense (examples: I am, you are, he/she/it is).
