Hello, this lesson is about greeting people in Chinese.

Jane： 你好.
Amy： 你好.

To ask a person “How are you？”，you say：

Jane： 你好吗？

Lesson 1 Review：
Hello - 你好 (nǐ hǎo)
How are you？ - 你好吗？ (nǐ hǎo ma)

Notes:
The word 你 means "you" in Chinese. To see how to write this word, please click here.

The word 好 by itself means "good" in Chinese. The character 吗 means "how" in this case. It is usually is placed at the end of a sentence to indicate that the sentence is a question.

The animation may be very different, but the video taught me a lot. Also, thanks for then notes! It was great to "break down" the language a bit more. =) Great site, and thank you so much!
